Alex Martin

Alex began performing Delta Blues professionally as a teenager and has appeared at festivals and clubs around the US and South America during his 20+ years in the industry. A singer, songwriter and guitarist, he has opened for and played with several Grammy winning artists and has worked as a session guitarist and teacher. He is a former scholarship recipient and graduate of the Berklee College of Music, where he immersed himself in Gospel, R&B, Latin music and Jazz. During his years in Los Angeles he also recorded the guitar for a popular children’s toy. Although his sound remains deeply rooted in the Blues, Alex also draws on elements from a diverse array of styles that have shaped him during his time living around the US and Colombia. During the pandemic Alex relocated to Portland, Oregon with his wife and young daughter and began working on new material. The resulting songs are proving to be his best work yet.

"Alex’s husky vocals add an additional degree of authenticity to his already established, exceptional, true to form technique on both slide guitar and picking"

— Malcolm Kennedy, Washington Blues Society

Alex is a frequent collaborator with LA based singer/actress Tina Vonn.
